Staff Trainings
Pre-Camp Training - online, self paced with one to two online meetings (about 1 hour long).
In-Camp Training will be held at Camp beginning the day before the camp session each staff is serving.
A staff application must be completed. Cedarbrook Camp will do a background check per California State Law. For new staff, references will be required.
Pre-Camp Training is one of the required activities that will help you be prepared for working at camp. Pre-Camp Training you will:
- Learn the Core Values of Cedarbrook Camp. How and why are we different from other camps?
- Develop skills to help you be the best staff or counselor possible with God’s help.
- Discover what is the best way to teach Bible Exploration for campers.
- Learn how to lead a camper to Christ.
- Learn the do’s and don’ts of outdoor cooking.
- Create and learn how to lead a Songfest.
- Get to know other staff who will be serving the same week as you.
- Discover what activity you will be helping with or leading.
- Become acquainted with what your responsibility is to campers in terms of health care.
- Enjoy engaging with and learning from other volunteer staff.
Staff who have never been to Cedarbrook Camp before will be introduced to the vocabulary used for various activities and the actions which are expected at camp.
All staff will be influencing the lives of our campers. Completing Pre-Camp Training will guarantee that staff will be better prepared to minister to campers and other staff this summer.
